Wyrd Realities has always been about stories—the kind that linger, unsettle, and invite you to look closer. The site has grown and shifted, and now it’s stepping into a clearer shape: a home for film, writing, and the art of storytelling.

At the heart of it all is Watching Wyrd, our author-led movie review show where we watch films like storytellers. Horror, sci-fi, fantasy, cult classics—we pull them apart for structure, theme, myth, and meaning. We argue (kindly), chase rabbit holes, and talk about why some stories stay with us long after the credits roll.

The relaunch also brings the Wyrd Realities Video Vault, our growing YouTube archive where past episodes live and new ones land. It’s a library of genre storytelling, one film at a time.

Wyrd Realities is also a space for writers. Through Writers of Wyrd, we celebrate original voices and the creative process—because film and writing feed each other, and stories don’t exist in silos.

We’re still proudly connected to longtime partners in the wider Wyrd orbit. Strange Frequencies (formerly Wyrd Awakenings), explores the uncanny, conspiratorial, and unexplained. Under the umbrella of our partners at Where in the Folk it dives into high strangeness and belief-edge stories, approaching the bizarre with curiosity and skepticism in equal measure.
